Gabriel Flores Jr. Cruises By Josec Ruiz

Stockton, California lightweight Gabriel Flores Jr. (18-0, 6 KOs) was impressive in shutting out Josec Ruiz (21-3-3, 14 KOs) of Honduras by winning a unanimous decision on the ESPN main event Thursday night at the "Bubble" at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Flores showed the hand speed in the opening round displaying some flash as Ruiz was off to a slow start. A left hook by Flores dropped Ruiz in the second round as the Honduran was up fighting. Flores was in control in round three as he fought confidently with Ruiz on the prowl. In the fourth, Flores continued to box, Ruiz however was able to connect with a wild overhand right late in the round. Circling the ring in the fifth, Flores kept his distance as Ruiz continued to stalk.

Past the halfway mark in the sixth, the young prospect connected with the left hook as Flores continued to have his way against the veteran Ruiz. In the seventh, Flores continued to put in the work boxing away with Ruiz still trying to land the big punch. Late in the fight, the undefeated fighter was well on his way to victory as Flores was by far the superior letting his hands go but there was no questioning Ruiz toughness as he looked for the knockout. All three judges scored the fight 100-89.

Super middleweight Clay Collard (7-2-3, 2 KOs) won a split decision over in handing David Kaminsky (6-1, 3 KOs) his first loss. Collard came out firing away MMA style as as he attacked Kaminsky, later in the round Kaminsky suffered a cut on his left eye from a right hand by Kaminsky. Swelling began to develop on Kaminsky left eye in the third and began to connect the hard punching Collard, later in the round the two fighters clashed heads but there was no cut.

The pressure continued on the part of Collard in the fourth as he backed Kaminsky to the ropes. With his faced swollen, Kaminsky mixed it up in the fifth as Collard appeared to slow down the pace.The sixth and final round saw Collard continuing to pressure as Kaminsky was limited. The judges scored the bout 58-56 Collard, 58-56 Kaminsky, and 58-56 Collard.
 

Puerto Rican super featherweight Frevian Gonzalez (3-0, 1 KO) won a unanimous decision over Jose Martinez (2-0, 1 KO). Gonzalez was the flashier of the two as Martinez was the more basic fighting behind the jab. The Puerto Rican skills was the difference as Martinez did his best to come out with the victory. In the end the scores were 40-36, 40-36, and 39-37

Super lightweight Victor Rodriguez (3-0, 1 KO) of Stanton, California was smooth in winning a decision over Justin Horsley (0-2). It was a fast paced opening round as Rodriguez with the technique boxed, the southpaw Horsley stalked around. Rodriguez controlled the fight as his experience and technique made the difference working his way to a unanimous decision. All three judges scored the fight 40-36.

Undefeated bantamweight, San Antonio's Robert Rodriquez (8-0-1,4 KOs) scored a second round knockout over Adrian Servin (9-1-1, 3 KOs) of Phoenix in opening up the ESPN telecast. Servin displayed the hand speed in the opening round as the southpaw Rodriguez stalked. A short right by Rodriquez dropped Servin early in the second as Rodriguez adapted began landing some big shots. Servin was rocked late in the round as the referee stepped in to stop the fight at 2:48.
