Leo Santa Cruz Returns
Sources say that undefeated featherweight and two-division world champion Leo Santa Cruz (31-0-1, 17 KO’s) will take on former world champion Kiko Martinez (34-6, 25 KOs) of Spain in his next fight Saturday February 20 in Los Angeles at a venue to be determined.
Chocolatito to Fight in LA ???
Three-division world champion and current WBC flyweight champion Nicaragua's Roman “Chocolatito” Gonzalez (44-0 , 38 KOs) says he will be defending his title against former world champion Giovanni Segura (32-4-1, 28 KOs) of Mexico on March 5 in Los Angeles at a venue to be determined. Herrera Provodnikov II in the Works
Lake Elsinore’s Mauricio Herrera (22-5, 7 KOs) and Ruslan Provodnikov (25-4, 18 KOs) of Russia are in talks for a potential rematch to take place in the spring. There are talks that the fight will be on the undercard of Saul “Canelo” Alvarez’s next fight May 7 in Las Vegas.
The two met back in 2011 with Herrera pulling off a split decision in a war. Since then their careers have gone in different paths. Herrera is coming off a technical decision win over Hank Lundy back in July as Provodnikov scored a fourth round knockout over Jesus Rodriguez in his last fight.
Top Rank Shows
Top Rank will have two shows in the Southern California area as Jose Felix Jr. (32-1-1, 25 KOs) will headline against Ricky Sismundo (30-8-2, 13 KOs) of the Philippines, Saturday January 30 at the Burbank, Marriott Hotel Events Center. Two weeks later Saturday February 13 welterweights Alex Saucedo (22-0, 14 KOs) of Oklahoma City and Clarence Booth (13-1, 7 KOs) of Florida square off at a venue to be determined. The two shows will be televeised on UniMas Solo Boxeo series.
