Coachella’s undefeated former world champion Randy Caballero returned to the ring Friday night as he took on Ruben Garcia of Mexico, City at the Fantasy Springs Resort and Casino Events Center in Indio , California on the Boxeo Estelar on Estrella TV main event. The former world champion Caballero began slow in the early rounds as he let the rust out on Garcia.
Halfways In round six referee Ray Corona told the fighters to break but Caballero landed a right, as Garcia went down but Corona told Garcia to get up. However in round seven a flurry of punches sent Garcia to the canvas as he got up but Caballero knockdown Garcia a second time as he continued to fight. The referee waived the bout at the end of round seven as Garcia stood in his corner.
Randy Caballero stays undefeated at 23-0, 14 KO’s as Ruben Garcia goes to 15-2-1, 6 KO’s.
Welterweight Frankie Gomez of East L.A. got some work in going the distance with tough veteran Silverio Ortiz of Mexico City in the scheduled ten round co-main event. The undefeated fighter Gomez boxed and landing heavy early on as Ortiz pressured. Gomez's heavy punches and power was too much but the veteran was able to take all of Gomez's best in going the distance. All three judges scored the bout 100-90.
Frankie Gomez goes to 21-0, 13 KO’s as he gets closer to a world title fight. Silverio Ortiz goes 29-17, 15 KO’s.
Undefeated lightweights Hector Tanajara Jr. of San Antonio, Texas won a six round unanimous decision over Clay Burns of Louisiana in a scheduled six round bout. Tanajara scored a knockdown in round five as Burns got up. All three judges scored the bout 60-53.

Pomona ’s Shane Mosley Jr. won a decision over Azamat Umarzoda in a scheduled four round middleweight bout. Umarzoda staggered Mosley to the ropes with a left hook in the opening round. A looping right hand by Mosley in round three dropped Umarzoda as Mosley finished strong in route to a decision. Judges scored the bout 40-35, 39-36, and 39-36.
Shane Mosley Jr. goes to 5-1, 4 KOs. Azamat Umarzoda goes to 2-9-2, 1 KO.
Featherweight Rocco Santomuro of Las Vegas and Juan Estrella of Tijuana went the distance in a scheduled six rounder. Santomuro was cut and bleeding massively on the side of his head early on as Estrella pressured. The Mexican continued to go forward with big punches as Santomuro boxed popping the jab. However despite Estrella's pressure most of the fight in the end the judges scored the bout 59-55, 59-55, and 58-56 as Santomuro wins a unanimous decision.
With the win Rocco Santomoru improves to 13-0, 1 KOs . Juan Estrella goes to 14-10-1, 10 KOs .
Palm Deserts Necco “Rooster” Macias stopped Uganda ’s Paul Mpendo in five in a scheduled six rounder. Macias outworked the Ugandan for landing a high volume of punches as Mpendo did not come out for round five upon advise of the physician.
Necco Macias improves and stays undefeated at 11-0, 6 KO’s. Paul Mpendo goes to 8-14-4, 4 KO’s.
Light heavyweights Alberto Fundora of Coachella stopped Cesar Ruiz of Mexico in two rounds in a scheduled four round bout. After an exchange in round two Fundora knockdown Ruiz with a right as he continued to fight, another right hand sent Ruiz to the canvas a second time as referee Ray Corona stopped the fight 1:56.
Alberto Fundora improves to 7-0, 3 KO’s. Cesar Ruiz goes to 2-3, 1KO.
In the opening bout from Fantasy Springs Resort & Casino Events Center in Indio, California Jesus Sanchez of Indio stopped Gibran Gutierrez in two rounds. Gutierrez was cut above the left eye in the opening round. Sanchez attacked in round two backing Gutierrez to the ropes as the referee stepped in to stop the fight at 2:48.
Juan Sanchez wins his pro debut at 1-0, 1 KO. Gibran Gutierrez goes to 0-2.
