Former World Champ "School Boy" Bobby Chacon Passes Away

Former two-division world champion “Schoolboy” Bobby Chacon, from Pacoima, California, passed away at the age of 64 Wednesday. According to the Los Angeles Times Chacon fell and struck his head in a Hemet, California care facility early Wednesday morning and succumbed to his injuries. Boxing in the late 70s and early 80s, winning world titles in the featherweight and super featherweight divisions. He regularly packed Southern California boxing venues and fought wars against the likes of Ruben Olivares, Cornelius Boza-Edwards, Rafael “Bazooka” Limon, Danny “Little Red” Lopez, Chucho Castillo, Alexis Arguello and many more. He ended with a career mark of 59-7-1, 47 KOs.
