Pacquiao Vargas Undercard Press Conference


WBO junior featherweight champion Nonito “The Filipino Flash” Donaire (37-3, 24 KOs), of a General Santos City, Philippines, WBO featherweight champion Oscar Valdez (21-0, 18 KOs) of Nogales, Sonora Mexico, top-rated contenders Jessie Magdaleno (23-0, 17 KOs) of Las Vegas and 2 time Chinese Olympic gold medalist Zou Shiming (8-1, 2 KOs), were on hand Tuesday afternoon at the Conga Room at LA Live in Los Angeles. The fighters will be part of the Manny Pacquiao vs. Jessie Vargas card on Saturday November 4 at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas live on Pay per view.

Hall of Fame Promoter Bob Arum started the press conference to officially announce the undercard.

"November 5th will be a pay per view organized and promoted by Top Rank," Arum said "We have four world championship fight with fighters from 6 different countries all which have been insulted by Trump," Arum added,"

In the pay per view co-feature Donaire will put his title on the line against undefeated Jessie Magdaleno. Here is what the fighters and their team had to say at the press conference.

"He has been calling me out but he deserves it. I am excited to be fighting on this card along with Pacquiao," Nonito Donaire said. "I have an outcome on victory. I have a hungry lion but I am a hungry dragon. I devour lions," Donaire added.

"On November 5th Jessie Magdaleno will take on Nonito Donaire. We have tremendous respect fro Nonito Donaire and tremendous confidence in Jessie Magdaleno," Magdaleno's manager Frank Espinoza Jr said. "November 5th I have no doubt Jessie Magdaleno will be WBO champion," Espinoza said in introducing Jessie Magdaleno.

"Wow! The time is finally here I am going against a great fighter. November 5th we are ready we have trained our butts off. We are more than ready for November 5th," Jessie Magdaleno said.

Valdez will be making his first title defense against number one contender and mandatory challenger Hiroshige Osawa (30-3-4, 19 KOs), of Osaka, Japan. The two-time Mexican Olympian, Valdez spoke about his upcoming fight as he was introduced by his manager Frank Espinoza.

"On Novemmber 5th Oscar will step in to the ring with Osawa to defend his title for the fist time," Espinoza said. "Valdez is ready for his next victory," Espinoza added.

The champ followed.

"I want to thank my team. I am excited for this fight and staying focus. I still consider myself a regular fighter and stay hungry," Valdez said. "Thank Top Rank for getting me this fight on this card. It's a great card I am excited. I will do my best to put up that Mexican Flag and come out victorious,"

Zou Shiming will take on Kwanpichit Onesongchaigym (39-1-2, 24 KOs), of Thailand, in a rematch.

"My opponent looks like Manny Pacquiao," Shiming said laughing away." 2 years ago I fought him in Macao. I want to thank Top Rank for giving me the opportunity to fight in Las Vegas. Its a dream come true,"
