Junior lightweight contender Rafael Rivera (24-0-2, 15 KOs) won a technical decision over Giovanni Caro (27-21-4, 21 KOs) Saturday night at the Renaissance Hotel in Palm Springs, California. The bout was stopped in the seventh round due to cuts on Caro caused by accidental headbutts. All three judges scored the bout 70-64.
The co-main event saw junior welterweight Max Becerra, (11-2-2, 7 KOs), win a tough six-round unanimous decision over Hugo Padilla, (5-10, 2 KOs). Scores were 59-55, 60-54, 60-54.
Junior bantamweight Danny Andujo, (3-1, 1 KO), won a four-round unanimous decision over Elwin Soto, (2-1, 1 KO), by scores of 40-36, 39-37, and 39-37.
Super welterweight David Lopez, (4-0, 3 KOs), scored a knockout over Antonio Neal, (4-8, 3 KOs). Late in round three Lopez connected a left hook to the body that sent Neal onto the canvas. Neal got up but Lopez's left to the body ended the fight at 2:35.
Welterweight Larry Fryers, (2-0, 1 KO), scored a third round knockout over Rolando Padilla, (0-1), the referee’s stopped the fight at 0:31 of round three in a scheduled four-round bout.
In the opening bout from Liveco Boxing’s Palm Springs Boxing Gala from the Renaissance Hotel in Palm Springs, California, Ronnie Robidoux, (2-0, 2 KOs),came back from a first round knockdown to stop Donnis Reed, (0-1), at 2:13 of round two in a scheduled four-round super middleweight bout.
