Undefeated WBC number one contender South El Monte's Joseph Diaz Jr. (26-0, 13 KOs) scored a third round KO over former world champion Victor Terrazas (38-5-2, 21 KOs) in the main event at Fantasy Springs in Indio, California headlining Golden Boy on ESPN. Diaz sent Terrazas to the canvas a pair of times in the opening round dropping him both times with the left uppercut. Terrazas was down a third time as a left hook to the body as the referee reached the ten count at 3:00 minutes of the third round.

Rey Perez (22-9, 6 KOs won a unanimous decision over Buena Park's Christian "Chimpa" Gonzalez (18-2, 15 KOs) in a scheduled eight round bout that was action packed. Trading inside in the opening round, Gonzalez and Perez did not take a step back continuously punching. Gonzalez was cut above his left eye in round four as Perez pressed forward despite both eyes swelling.
Refusing to box and despite the bleeding from the cut Chimpa and Perez continued to fight in a telephone booth in round five. Perez landed the straight right hand numerous times in the sixth snapping Gonzalez's head. The seventh round saw Perez all over Gonzalez landing big punches and staggering him. The eighth and final round saw both fighters continuing to go forward sensing the urgency. In the end the judges scored the bout
Opening up the ESPN telecast Dallas, Texas's Vergil Ortiz (9-0, 9 KOs) TKO'd Jesus Alvarez of Sinaloa, Mexico in four rounds. A right by Ortiz sent Alvarez to the canvas in the opening round as he got up finishing the round. Fighting on the inside Ortiz landed the heavier punches and began to breakdown Alvarez as referee Raul Caiz Jr. stepped in to stop the fight at 2:23 of the third.
San Diego super lightweight prospect Genaro Gamez (8-0, 5 KOs) stopped Miguel Mendoza (23-12-2, 22 KOs) of Aguascalientes, Mexico . Gamez and Mendoza traded heavy bombs in the opening round. Boxing away in the second round Gamez popped the jab following up with power punches as Mendoza continued to swing wildly. In round three both continued to trade heavy punches as Gamez set up Mendoza with the uppercut. After a battle in round four Mendoza was gassed as he was not able to continue the bout was waived at the end of the round four.
San Antonio's Hector Tanajara (12-0, 5 KOs) made quick work of Eduardo Rivera (10-4-2, KOs) in a scheduled eight round super featherweight bout. Referee at of the first round.
In the opening bout from the Fantasy Springs Event Center undefeated featherweight prospect Manny Robles Jr. (15-0, 7 KOs) of Los Angeles scored an impressive stoppage over Martin Cardona (24-11, 16 KOs) of Tucson, Arizona. Robles pounded away as he dominated Cardona as a barrage of punches forced Cardona's corner to stop the fight at 2:53 of the fourth.
