Former world champion Juan Francisco "Gallo" Estrada (37-3, 25 KOs) of Puerto Penasco, Sonora, Mexico won a unanimous decision over fellow Mexican Felipe Orocuta (36-5, 30 KOs) Saturday night at the Forum in Inglewood, California on HBO. It was a fun action fight through twelve rounds as Estrada and Orocuta exchanged much of the fight. Reminiscent to the old flyweight days at the Forum.

The judges scored the bout 118-110, 117-111, and 117-111.

Filipinos Donnie Nietes (41-1-5, KOs) and Aston Palicte (24-2-1, 9 KOs) squared off in the co-feature bout as they fought to a lackluster draw. Palicte used his height keeping his distance as Nietes adapted to the height. Despite being at a height disadvantage, Nietes kept the pressure throughout the fight closing strong. The judges scores were 118-110 for Nietes, 116-112 for Palicte, and 114-114.

Kazuto Ioka (23-1, 13 KOs) of Japan won a unanimous decision over McWilliams Arroyo (17-4, 14 KOs) of Puerto Rico. Ioka floored Arroyo early in the round. The Japanese fighter kept a very busy pace letting his hands go in route to a decision win.

Scores were 99-90, 97-92, & 97-92.

Super Flyweights Alexandru Marin (16-0, 11 KOs), Romania and Bruno Escalante (17-3, 7 KOs) of the Philippines. Marin landed a hard right hand to close the opening round as he hugged Escalante on the way to his corner. Stalking in round two, Marin connected once again with the right, snapping Escalante's head back. The Romanian kept the pressure as he continued to land the right, backing Escalante to the ropes. In round four, Escalante cut Marin's eye with a hard left hook as the Filipino kept the pressure. Staying at close range, Escalante and Marin mixed it up at the halfway point in the fifth.

Past the halfway mark in the sixth, Escalante targeted the cut on Marin's eye. However in round seven Marin backed Escalante with the right hand but the Filipino connected with a left backing Marin to the ropes and snapping his head. Late in the fight, Marin and Escalante stayed close continuing to exchange. The tenth and final round, Marin came out attacking letting his hands go as he kept Escalante stood and traded to the final bell roughing him and tackling him down to close.

Judges scored the bout

The ladies were in action as atomweights Louisa Hawton (8-2, 4 KOs) of Perch, Australia and Brenda Flores (13-4-1, 2 KOs) of Tijuana, Mexico squared off. Flores popped the jab and bloodied Hawton in the opening round. Despite the bleeding Hawton was the aggressor as Flores kept her distance and boxed. It was a fun scrap throughout the ten rounds. In the end the judges scored the bout 97-93 for Flores, 97-93 for Hawton, and 96-94 as Brenda Flores pulls of the split decision.

Super featherweight Mario Ramos (6-0, 6 KOs) of San Diego, CA KO3 Alex Solorio (4-4). Ramos bloodied & battered Solorio for three rounds as the referee stopped the fight at 2:17 of the third.

Anaheim's Jonathan Esquivel (7-0, 7 KOs) scored a first round knockout over Juan Jose Valenzuela (5-10-1). Esquivel dropped Valenzuela a pair of times as the referee waived it off at

In the opening bout from the Forum in Inglewood, California. Mexican flyweight prospect Joselito Lopez (6-0, 5 KOs) of Oaxaca won a unanimous decision over Jose Alfredo Chanez (6-7, 3 KOs) of Tijuana in a scheduled six round bout. All three judges scored the bout 60-54.
