Leameux & Munguia Post Fight

Former middleweight champion David Lemieux (40-4, 34 KOs) of Montreal, Quebec, Canada spoke about his knockout over Ireland’s Gary “Spike” O’Sullivan (28-3, 20 KOs) at the post fight press conference. Here is what he had to say.

"To be on this under card it's a good opportunity for me to show what I can do,"

"I had to show that Lemieux is not any middleweight. I am the middleweight,"

Lemieux also spoke about his future and that fight he wants,"

"Congrats to Canelo on his victory. That would be something I'm interested in,"

"I definitely want to fight Canelo. A big fight with Canelo,"

"A fight with Canelo is realistic and a fight with Golovkin is also realistic,"

"Things have changed. I am not the same Lemieux that fought Golovkin the last time,"

WBO junior middleweight champion Jaime Munguia (31-0, 26 KO’s) of Tijuana, Mexico spoke about his knockout over Brandon Cook (20-2, 13 KOs) of Toronto, Canada.

"Here we are happy that we had a good fight. I hope you all liked my performance. It's an honor to be fighting on Mexican Independence Day weekend,"

"I expect to return soon,"

"I want to return either in November or December,"

"I would like to fight anyone Canelo or Golovkin but first I want to fight the guys at my weight which is super welterweight,"

"I would love to fight any of the champs at 154 to unify my titles,"

"Viva Mexico,"

Munguia's promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions spoke briefly.

"We came here to steal the night and that we did,"

"In the future you will see up against Canelo and Golovkin,"
