Results From Pico Rivera

Lightweight Ángel Flores (6-0, 4 KO’s) of Santa Barbara, California won a hard fought unanimous decision over Roberto Almazan (9-12) of Mexico in headlining the Red Promotions Road to Glory Saturday night at the Pico Rivera Sports Arena in Pico Rivera Sports Arena. Flores boxed well and was aggressive as Almazan fought hard in giving the undefeated prospect all he can handle but Flores finished strong in dropping Almazan twice in the closing round.

All three judges scored the bout 40-34.

Light flyweight Axel Vega (13-2, 8 KO’s) of Tijuana scored a second round knockout over Giovanni Noriega (2-5-2). Vega scored a knockdown in the second round as Noriega got up but Vega finished him off as the referee stepped in to stop the fight at 1:19 of the second.

Steven Rodriguez (8-0, KOs) won a unanimous decision over Ryan Picou. Rodriguez was the aggressor throughout the fight staying on top of the slick Picou who boxed well.

All three judges scored the bout 40-36

Super featherweight Andre Marquez (2-1) scored a knockout over Alvin Brown (0-8).

Lightweight Daniel Cruz (3-0) won a unanimous decision Phillip Bounds (0-4) in going four rounds. Cruz applied the pressure throughout the fight as Bounds fought mostly to survive.

All three judges scored the bout 40-36

In the opening bout welterweights Edgar Lopez and Bradley Peña fought to a draw as they made their debut. Lopez and Peña did not hold back in going the distance.

In the end the judges scored the bout 38-38
