Golden Boy Promotions announced Tuesday the signing of three prospects: lightweight Daillis Kaleiopu of Hawaii, bantamweight Asa Stevens also from Hawaii. Stevens, 19, is an amateur world champion and the cousin of UFC fighter Max Halloway. Kaleiopu, 21, participated in several amateur tournaments and the Olympic Trials.
Here is what Oscar De La Hoya had to say:
“We are excited to be signing three great prospects. We have big plans to keep them busy on DAZN. These are 3 young men that are hardworking and talented. Our objective is to get them a world title.”
Dailis Kaleiopu: “I’m a boxer-puncher. I love to throw the jab , follow with the right and land the left hook to the body. My goal is to be world champion and put Hawaii in the map.”
Asa Stevens: “I’m happy to be signing with Golden Boy. I can’t wait to debut.”
