Bohachuk Finishes 2024 Campaign in Riyadh

Super welterweight contender Serhii ‘El Flaco’ Bohachuk, (25-2, 24 KOs), ended his 2024 campaign in dominant fashion on Saturday night with a sensational sixth round stoppage of Ishmael Davis, (13-1). The scheduled 12-round WBC World Title Eliminator was featured on the undercard to the Oleksandr Usyk – Tyson Fury Unified Heavyweight Title bout and was broadcast globally on DAZN PPV.



Using his trademark relentless aggression from the opening bell, Bohachuk, representing his native Ukraine, controlled the action in front of the massive crowd at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Using his full arsenal in non-stop fashion, the Manny Robles trained Bohachuk dropped Davis in the second round and continued the attack through the sixth round. Davis’ corner called a halt to the fight following the sixth frame.



Stated the victorious Bohachuk, “I was very happy to fight on this big stage with Usyk vs Fury. I want to prove I’m the best Super Welterweight and this knockout is a step closer to that. I was happy to represent my country in the ring and also very happy that Oleksandr Usyk won his fight to stay Heavyweight Champion of the World. I’m very grateful to His Excellency Turki Alalshikh for this opportunity and for his promise to put me on this show.”



Bohachuk has been promoted throughout his professional career by Tom Loeffler’s 360 Promotions. “Serhii had another impressive knockout performance on the biggest stage of the year,” said Loeffler. “He has had three world class fights this year and earned the mandatory position with this WBC Title Eliminator win. Serhii also continues to prove he is one of the biggest punchers in boxing with 24 knockouts out of 25 wins. The 29-year-old Bohachuk started his year with a highly impressive 12-round decision over former world champion Brian Mendoza on March 30, 2024 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, NV featured on the undercard of the Sebastian Fundora vs. Tim Tszyu world title fight.



Fighting on August 10, 2024, Bohachuk dropped Vergil Ortiz Jr. twice over 12 hotly contested rounds, however lost a majority decision. Following the main event fight and disappointing outcome, Serhii was approached as he left the ring by His Excellency Turki Alalshikh who promised him a fight on a future Riyadh Season card.
