Philadelphia's undefeated super welterweight Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis (36-0, 32 KOs) wiped out Uisma Lima (14-2, 10 KOs) of Angola in the first round Saturday night at the Xfinity Arena in Philadelphia. Boots made his 154 pound debut in scoring the knockout victory.

A right uppercut started Lima’s downfall. It buckled him and froze him for a follow-up flurry which dropped him. A follow-up barrage sent Lima down again. Beating the count, Lima wound up against the ropes taking more punishment, prompting referee Shawn Clark to save a wilting Lima from further punishment. The time time was 1:58 of the opening frame. Ennis moves to 36-0, 32 KOs. He also picks up the Interim WBA super welterweight title. Lima Falls to 14-2, 10 KOs.

Ennis said he wants everybody who has a belt at 154, but he stressed , “You know who’s next,” referring to fellow interim (WBC) champ Vergil Ortiz.
