Adams Defeats Bohachuk...Again

Super welterweight Brandon Adams (26-4, 16 KOs) of Watts, California defeated Los Angeles based Ukrainian Serhii Bohacuk (26-3, 24 KOs) for a second time as they squared off in a rematch headlining the preliminary card on Tudum.com, TKO You Tube, & WWF You Tube.

Starting off in the center, Bohachuk and Adams exchanged on the inside early in the fight. Continuing on the inside Bohachuk connected with a solid uppercut in round two as he pressed patiently. Despite getting hit crisp early, Adams held his own and began to mix it up in the fourth.

Letting the hands go, Adams began to make things complicated for Bohachuk halfway through the fight but the tough Ukrainian kept pressing. Pushing through in the sixth, Adams and Bohachuk traded. The two fighters kept going at it as it was late in the fight exchanging inside, neither took a step back but Adams began to connect connecting with a series of hard right to close the eighth. The inside exchanges continued late in the fight, Bohachuk and Adams stayed busy. Adams utilized the jab and mixed it up letting his hands go as Bohachuk kept pushing through.

After ten rounds the judges scored the fight 99-91, 98-92, & 98-92 as Adams pulls the unanimous decision.

Franklin Gets the Victory

In a heavyweight snoozer, Jermain Franklin Jr. (24-2, 15 KOs) out of Saginaw, MI, faced Ivan Dychko from Kazakhstan with Turki Al-Sheikh looking on ringside. Although there was no “cat and mouse,” it was instead lots of holding and referee breakups. After 10 rounds, Franklin scored the unanimous decision with both fighters looking a little surprised.

Over 10 rounds, Franklin Jr. threw a few combos to work inside, only to get tied up with Dychko. Dychko did most of his work from the outside and relied on his jab. There were very few back and forth exchanges throughout the fight. Dychko was deducted a point for holding in the eighth.

This was a big opportunity for both to step up as Franklin had won two in a row after setbacks to Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte. The undefeated Dychko, who now resides in Pennsylvania, had a chance to move up the heavyweight ladder on a massive stage. The sparse crowd let the fighters know as well with booing in the 5th round. In the end, Franklin Jr., did enough in the eyes of all 3 judges and walked away with the victory by scores of 97-92, 96-93 and 95-94.

Tsutsumi Stops Martinez

In a one-sided battering, super featherweight Reito Tsutsumi stopped Javier Martinez in the very first round of the scheduled six. It started with uppercuts and ended with left hooks that sent Martinez to the ropes. The referee waived it off at 2:18 for the Tsutsumi TKO victory.

Making his professional debut, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s Sultan Almohammed (1-0) won a unanimous decision over Martin Caraballo (0-1-1), Hollywood, Florida in a super lightweight bout. All three judges scored the bout 40-36.

Raiko Santana Upsets Steven Nelson

In an upset, Cuban light heavyweight Raiko Santana (13-4, 7 KOs) of Cuba stopped Omaha, Nebraska Steven Nelson (20-2, 16 KOs) in the opening round. A hard right hand by Santana staggered Nelson, as the Cuban followed up with his attack when referee Robert Hoyle prematurely stepped in to stop the fight at 2:38.

2024 Mexican Olympic Silver Medalist Marco Verde (3-0, 2 KOs) of Mazatlan, Sinaloa, stopped Sona Akale (9-4, 4 KO’s) in four rounds opening the Canelo Crawford preliminary card from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

Getting things started early on, Verde dropped Akale in the first round. The Mexican Olympian stayed composed connecting with precise solid punches. However, a flurry of punches by Verde did it as referee Mark Nelson stepped in to stop the fight at 1:11 of the fourth.
