Opening the Showtime Pay per view, undefeated middleweight Elijah Garcia (16-0, 13 KOs) of Phoenix had to put in some work against a very tough Armando Resendiz (14-2, 10 KOs) of Nayarit, Mexico stopping him in eight rounds. It was a hard fought eight rounds for the young 20-year-old Garcia. Letting his hands go and peppering the tough Mexican throughout the fight, Resendiz kept coming. However, in the eighth, Garcia sent Resendiz to the canvas with a blistering short right hand, continuing to fight Garcia finished off Resendiz as referee Tony Weeks stepped in to waive the bout at 1:23.
