Fulton Defeats Leo; Wins



Undefeated junior featherweights, Stephen “Cool Boy” Fulton Jr. (19-0, 8 KOs), and Angelo Leo (20-1, 9 KOs) squared off Saturday nights in headlining the first SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING telecast of 2021 live on SHOWTIME from Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. Fulton was victorious via unanimous decision over Leo, scores were 119-109, 119-109 and 118-110. as Fulton wins the WBO super bantamweight title.






Super bantamweight Ra’eese Aleem (18-0, 12 KOs) stopped Vic Pasillas (16-1, 9 KOs). Aleem dropped Pasillas in the second with a looping right flush on the chin, Pasillas held on and survived the round as he was wobbly. Pasillas was down three more times. There was a brief moment that Pasillas appeared to have some momentum but was countered by Aleem and sent to the canvas. Aleem had done enough after 11 rounds as the referee had seen enough stopping it at . Aleem wins the interim WBA title.






WBA interim lightweight champ Rolando “Rolly” Romero (13-0, 11 KOs) stopped late sub-Avery Sparrow (10-3, 3 KOs) of Philadelphia. Romero dropped Sparrow in the opening round with a huge left hook. Sparrow was up and continued to fight throughout the fight, but it was all Romero. In the sixth, round Romero staggered Sparrow and continued to dominate. Sparrow was deducted 2 points, but the corner had seen enough stopping the fight in the seventh.
