Zuffa Boxing announced today that heavyweight Johnny Fisher has signed a promotional agreement with the company. The Essex native will debut in the main event of ZUFFA BOXING 11, which will take place on Saturday, September 26, at the Copper Box Arena in London.
“The most exciting chapter of my professional career begins,” Fisher said. “Thank you to Dana White, Nick Khan, and the Zuffa Boxing team for this opportunity. Everything has led to this point. Bull Army, get ready to assemble. Bosh!”
Fisher (14-1, 12 KOs) joins Zuffa Boxing as one of Britain's fastest-rising heavyweight contenders. The 27-year-old from Romford most recently scored an emphatic fourth-round knockout of previously unbeaten Ivan Balaz last December. Standing 6-foot-4, “The Romford Bull” has built a reputation as an explosive finisher, recording 12 knockouts in 14 victories, including five first-round stoppages. His lone professional defeat came in a rematch against fellow British contender Dave Allen at Copper Box Arena, less than five months after he earned a split-decision victory in their first meeting. Fisher will make his third appearance at Copper Box Arena when he headlines ZUFFA BOXING 11.
