The 8-round bout will headline CBN Promotions' "New Blood" card at the Infinite Reality Studios, formerly Thunder Studios, in Long Beach, California, on November 4, 2023. Here is what Briceno had to say about his recent training camp, his matchup with Lopez, fighting in the main event on FOX Deportes, and more.

On his recent training camp:

“I’ve been working on hard over the past year, event thought I didn’t have anything lined up, but now that I have a fight scheduled, I took my training to another level. I’m in tremendous shape and I believe people will be impressed with my performance.”

On his matchup with Louis Lopez:

“I know Lopez always comes to fight, so I’m expecting a very tough fight. I’ve been in the ring with fighters that I believe are better than him so I think my experience will be a deciding factor with me coming out victorious. I have every intention to bring the fight to him so everyone watching can expect to see some fireworks.”

On fighting in main event on FOX Deportes:

“Fighting in the main event on FOX Deportes will be a great opportunity for me to get back into a big fight. A win will put me in a great position. All my people back home will get a chance to see me fight, so I’m very grateful for that.”

On returning to the ring after a long layoff:

“It’s been tough getting me fights, so I had to really rethink if I wanted to stay in boxing. I know I have a lot of fights left in me, so I kept training hoping for another chance to fight. Now that I’m scheduled to fight, I’m going to make the best of this opportunity.”
