WBC women's super bantamweight champion Yamileth Mercado (17-2-0, 5 ko's) retained for the first time the world championship by winning for a clear and well-worked unanimous decision victory, a brave and volunteer Alejandra Guzmán, (11-2-2, 5 ko's) in the stellar fight of the boxing evening presented by Zanfer and 2M Promotions in Hermosillo. In what was a very competitive fight, although clearly, the quality of the world champion prevailed. Guzman had moments of great lure, but Mercado set the conditions. Scores were 98-93, and 98-92, 98-92.
Tijuana based Wil "Wili" Garcia (12-4-1, 6 ko's) won a unanimous decision over Nery Plata (13-3-1, 7 ko's) went out to throw punches from the first round and never stopped. He knocked Nery down in that same first round, and repeated impacts with both hands, from both guards, up and down and put him wrong repeatedly. It was Garcia that controlled the fight. Scores were 79-74, 78-73 y 76-75
