David Benavidez Wins Unanimous Decision Over Caleb Plant
In the much anticipated showdown, super-middleweight champion David “El Bandera Roja’’Benavídez (26-0, 23 KO’s) of Phoenix won a unanimous decision over former IBF super middleweight champion Caleb Plant (22-1, 13 KO’s) of Nashville Saturday night at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Sizing each other out in the opening round, Benavidez and Plant jabbed, later in the round Plant tied up as Benavidez attempted to get rough drawing the attention of referee Kenny Bayless.
